Effects of COVID-19 Isolation Practices on Neurosurgical Traumas

Aim: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and was declared a pandemic the World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11, 2020. We aimed to investigate frequency of head spinal injuries trauma before after pandemic. To identify situations that should be taken into account in isolation measures due possibility emergence such epidemics globalizing world.
 Material Method: Medical records 2595 patients were accessed 1309 with missing patient data excluded from study. Normal distribution continuous variables assessed using Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. Continuous compared Mann-Whitney U test categorical Chi-square or Fisher’s exact test.
 Results: Data 1286 analyzed. Some parameters differ pandemic, age, injury mechanism, type lesion, trauma. The average age 33.9 male-female ratio 3/2. most frequent admission emergency room summer. In our data, there significant differences gunshot wounds soft tissue contusion lesions, trauma.
 Conclusion: Covid has imperative changes every aspect life. This situation also change reasons for applying hospitals. It been shown isolations performed because Covid-19 did not affect diagnosis, treatment, mortality patients, although they changed mechanisms spine Even compulsory public health, approach neurosurgical traumas may occur change. forgotten presence 19 it continues other clinical situations.
